Fall of Satan

Ever wondered how someone as demonic as Satan was depicted as handsome? A being so evil that he becomes the Prince of Hell.

It first started with the famous poem “Paradise Lost” by John Milton. The poem, for the first time in history depicted Satan as a tragic hero and depicted him as a troubled character. A character that had the means to be good and bad at the same time. A depiction so revolutionary that Milton was accused of being a satanist, for the way in which he explored the character of Satan in his poem.

He explored Satan in a way that made him seem almost human, a character that was ambitious and smart, who gets swallowed by his ambitions. This tragic retelling of Satan changed the way in which Satan was viewed. Allowing a different perspective to analyse a character as complicated and as layered as Satan.
