The Universe 25 experiment removed anything that could affect the well being of the mice within the chamber that they were in. The experiment focused on the behaviours of the mice - and how their behaviour changed depending on the population growth. The more the demography of mice changed within the chamber the more behaviour of the mice changed as well.

Causing younger mice not being able to protect their territory because of their receding numbers leading the female mice to take the role of protector which caused a massive increase in mice foetus deaths. The experiment also saw different groups of female and male mice that refused to socialise with the other mice, specifically the male mice that refused to socialise, later labelled the ‘Beautiful Ones’, caused attention because their unique trait; taking care of themselves and not displaying aggressive behaviour.
